“My car isn’t safe for…

…driving on roads more than 5 miles away from campus.” This quote is from one of the students who posted a comment on Penn State’s Facebook page. One guy even said that they need to cancel school tomorrow because he spent the last five hours refreshing the page instead of doing homework for his 9:05 am class. If that doesn’t make Penn State close tomorrow, I don’t know what will.
Most of the branch campuses are closed already, but Penn State University Park (UP) is notorious for staying open no matter what. It would be more probable for goats to take over the world (actually, I think they could), frogs to fall from the sky, or me to eat two donuts with an egg, sausage patty, bacon, and 4 ounces of cheese with mayonnaise on top then for class to be cancelled. Apocolypse? Yup, we’d still have classes.
Dream on kids, dream on.
Today was a fast day! I can’t believe tomorrow is Wednesday already! Breakfast was the usual-banana, almond butter, milk, puffed wheat, oatmeal, cinnamon, and ginger. Lunch was a fast apple and oatmeal bar in between tests working on my URP at the lab, and dinner was split with a heavy, passionate Spanish class and quiz interlude. I made a lot of progress today at the lab. I actually extracted DNA and set up several PCR reactions but didn’t get to finish them because I ran out of time.
The first part of dinner was a quick risotto–made by reheating the veggie rice I made on Sunday with some chicken stock. The starch in the rice transformed the grainy pilaf into a creamy risotto… within 5 minutes. Creamy, warm and invigorating. The yolk of the egg didn’t hurt either!
Well, I’m off to study for my lab animal medicine exam that is on Thursday. Tomorrow will be over before I know it.
Have a great Wednesday.
